The ins and outs of international business will be explored in a new educational program being offered by HBA Global Expo & Conference. The two-day Global Perspectives conference program will provide attendees with proven strategies for forming global partnerships and selling and distributing products overseas. HBA Global Expo, which will take place September 28-30, at the Javits Center in New York City is regarded as the most important product development event for the cosmetics, personal care, skin care and fragrance industry.

The Global Perspectives Conference opens with a primer on “International Expansion: The Basics and Beyond;” and will give brands the tools to assess the international beauty and personal care marketplace. Covered in this session will be reaching out to new international distribution channels, the latest research figures on the global marketplace and international trends as well as providing vital advice on shaping a brand’s international image and keeping it culturally authentic.

“Negotiating International Regulations” will help attendees know if their product and packaging meet the necessary requirements to go global. The session on “Not Getting Lost in Translation: Taking International Brands to U.S. Markets,” will provide case studies on global brands that have successfully carved out a place for themselves in the competitive U.S. market while retaining their unique brand identities, and features speakers from Alchimie Forever, bluemercury, inc., and Caudalie.

The second day of the Global Perspectives Conference will provide detailed information on some of the most important worldwide markets including “The World’s Largest Beauty Market: Cosmetics In Europe;” “The Growing Latin American Market;” “East Asian Markets: Opportunities in the Pacific Rim;” and “The Global South: Emerging Markets in India and Fair Trade Opportunities.”

“Providing information that helps brands gain more business and grow is the core mission of HBA’s educational offerings,” says Jill Birkett, brand director, Beauty & Wellness. “The new Global Perspectives Conference is a must-attend program for international brands looking to form partnerships in the U.S. and American brands wanting to expand overseas.”

Expert speakers in the Global Perspectives Conference also include senior executives and top analysts from Astral Health & Beauty, CONUSBAT, Energizer Personal Care, Euromonitor, Mintel, Natura Cosmeticos, Orna Skincare and Pearlfisher.

Complementing the Global Perspectives Conference is a show floor full of international suppliers of packaging, private label, raw materials and ingredients including for the first time 10 national companies from the Dominican Republic, Polo Cosmesi from Italy and exhibitors from China, India, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Turkey as well as other parts of the world.
